For the Savoury Mince:

800g Beef Mince
2 Tbsp Oil
1 Onion, finely chopped
1 Beef Stock Cube, dissolved in 250 ml boiling water
1 Tomato, chopped


For the Topping:

1 cup Iwisa No.1 Super Maize Meal
1 cup Snowflake Cake Wheat Flour
2 tsp Snowflake Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Salt
2 Eggs, beaten
1 cup Cooking Oil
1/2 cup Milk


1. Heat the oil, then brown mince and onion.
2. Add the stock and tomato, then cover with a lid and simmer for 40 minutes.
3. Spoon savoury mince into an ovenproof dish.
4. Beat eggs, cooking oil and milk together.
5. Sift dry ingredients, including the Iwisa No.1 Super Maize Meal, and add to the egg mixture. Beat the batter well.
6. Spoon over savoury mince. Bake at 180ÂșC for 15-20 minutes or until the batter is puffed and browned.
