For the Creamy Maize:

2 cups Iwisa No.1 Creamy Maize Flour
4 cups Water
1 tsp Salt
Red, yellow and green peppers, chopped (optional)


For the Mince:

1 Tbsp Oil
1 Onion, chopped
500g Beef Mince
1 Beef Stock Cube
1 cup Water
1 tin (65g) Tomato Paste


1. For the pap: Mix 2 cups of Iwisa No.1 Creamy Maize Flour with 2 cups of cold water and salt.
2. Bring the other 2 cups of water to the boil in a large pot. Pour the cold porridge mix into the boiling water
and stir until thick.
3. Lower heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes until cooked.
4. Fry the diced peppers in oil or butter and stir into the cooked maize.
5. For the mince: Heat the oil and fry the onion for 2-3 minutes. Add mince and fry until it changes colour.
6. Add all remaining ingredients and simmer for 20-30 minutes, adding extra water if needed.
